i really hate free dial-up. i am cheap, so i use the “free” dial-up school offers. Well, it sucks. Their servers are breeding grounds for virii (going rate is about 2-3 per semester). When they catch virii, their web servers go down. i can check my email, but i can’t get onto the web. Now, as i mentioned earlier today, my video driver (made by Micro$oft) does not mike Word (also made by Micro$oft). So, i, being the good lemming, went to the website of the video card manufacturer to download an updated driver (they have one that Micro$oft doesn’t like). Now, as it is a 27.7 meg file, i decided not to tie up my only phone line for 2-3 hours downloading, but to wait until i got home from work. Well, i have been home for an hour…and the University decided to catch a cold. For the last hour, i have been unable to get onto the net. i can’t do my paper (a system that crashes every 10-15 minutes does not help a stressed out individual maintain his train of thought. So, now i have some access (it does keep on going in and out). Grr…i’m going to bed, then going to school. Their computers accept M$ Word as it is!
