i think that it’s been about that long since i posted…Well, *phew*!
This past week was centered on VBS in the mornings, kennel in the afternoons, and work at night. Now that VBS is over, i can sleep late…yay!
All in all, we had about 260 different kids throughout the week playing a wide assortment of games outside.
Now for my rants/pissings (i have a week to catch up)
(1) When standing before a judge and having multiple unpaid tickets two years old and a revoked license, do not plead innocence to the judge or inability to pay those previous fines (as this one guy did). As for me, i had to pay just the minimum fee (and no court costs) of $75….not as bad as i thought it would be.
(2) What happened to the hand baskets at Wal-Mart? i had a handful of things to buy and could not find a hand basket. i wasn’t going to get a huge cart (one reason being that none were available), so i hand carried everything. i got to the checkout line and stood in the 20-items-or-less lane, hoping that someone would be nice and let me go first because i had a lot less than they (but this was to no avail).
(3) When in a checkout line and you know you are going to pay by check, start writing the check! There was this lady who did not take out her checkbook until after her stuff was bagged and in her cart! Then, she chatted with the cashier before she started to write the freaking check….That ticks me off….Oh, did i mention that she had a line behind her about 10 people long?
(4) DVDs at Blockbuster suck. i have been trying to get Donnie Darko to actually watch it. ALL THREE DVDs at Blockbuster are scratched.
(5) This semester was my worst GPA at 3.0. That sucks.
(6) Dogs with long hair and water falling from the sky do not mix for a good smell.
And, lastly, story time!
On Monday, my family left to go out of town. i was told that their flight was for 6:00 AM (which means they have to be at the airport for 5:00 AM). So, we wake up at 4:00 AM, get everything ready, packed and over to the airport (of course, i have to go because the price for parking a car at the airport for 3 weeks is exorbent). So, i drop them off. We arrived at 5:00, and started unpacking. My stepdad runs and gets a pushcart for the luggage. He asks my mom whether or not he should run and get into the line (because he was using some standby tickets). She says that she’ll get the kids rounded up and meet him there. Now, a normal person would see this as a message to take the luggage since a woman cannot push a stoller, hold a 2 year old’s hand and watch a ten year old AND push a big cart of luggage. Unfortunately, my stepdad is not a normal person and ran off to the line. So, i had to grab the cart and push it to him (with the message of “don’t forget this”) while my mom watched the car.
Finally with all that done, all was good and i left. Being that the car was on empty (and had been for 30 miles), i stopped and put some fuel into it (i say some because the thing takes somwhere in the range of $8,000 for a fill up and i’m a bit broke). Then, i got home, undressed, and back into bed (i still had another two hours before i had to wake up for good). Only, five minutes later, the phone rang. My family was unable to get the 6:00 flight and wanted me to come and pick up some of them. GRRR. So, i drove all the way back to the airport to pick up my mom, the baby, and Austin. My stepdad and Pierson were staying around the airport and waiting to catch the next available flight (as they had the standby passes). So, we returned home at 7:15. Still no extra sleep. Since i only had a few more minutes before having to wake up (and i was wide awake at the moment…), i stayed awake. At 8:30 we left (i had to get stuff at VBS set up before VBS). i set up the games for VBS in 15 minutes, then drove back to the airport to drop my mom off for her flight, and returned to VBS before the games started. After VBS, i had to run to school and take two finals before i could go home and sleep. Eventually, i did.
And, the moral of the story: If you have a family, do not use the free buddy passes (standby tickets). Pay the extra $100 per person and not annoy needlessly your driver.
