impleri

OK, i finally splurged. i just bought a domain name and and hosting plan to go with that domain. More to come on that $50 venture.
In the real world, here i am. i'm finally reading through the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy “trilogy” (all 5 books). Right now, i'm on book 2 and find the series quite funny. i finished my English paper (finally…only one week late) and did a look at Robert Frost's “Stopping by a Woods on a Snowy Evening.” No, it's not about Santa Claus…Mr. Cringle denies it.
Other than that, things are going pretty well right now. i went rock climbing yesterday at the gym my mom just joined. The rock was ok…not the greatest variety of faces (there was “easy” and “difficult”….no intermediate). i will probably not return to rock climb there because of safety issues (the people don't know how to belay properly!) and because i hate automatic belay machines (they're dangerous). Maybe one day, i will check out ClimbMax (indoor rock climbing facility) downtown. If any of you, my faithful readers (read: strange cult fans), wish to go rock climbing with me, give me a holler.
Lastly, a communications issue has been resolved. i am now registered on Yahoo, MSN, and AOL instant messengers as “impleri.” i am now using Gaim (which is cool so far), so try to contact me…maybe i'll be around. i also have an ICQ number (which i can never remember) and will be changing its name from whatever it is to “impleri” as well. So, look me up, leave a message at the beep!
OK…i lied, lastly (again), i am really thinking of setting up an emergent community around New Orleans. Some things i need: location, people, and support. i think i can find some people from my campus activities to help me out (some have said they would). i was thinking of either some kind of hip-hop “club” or a rock “club.” i am looking at seeing how much it would cost to rent out a wharehouse for a weekend once a month (or two) to have a big event. Also, i am trying to find a building i can use to have weekly gatherings. Ideally, it would be set up more as a network of independent groups that each meet whenever they decide with a monthly or bi-monthly gathering of all the groups. My idea is that of the Latin word “impleri,” which is the present passive infinitive form of the vero “impleo” (to fill up, to complete)…so “to be filled up, to be completed” is the theme i am running with (hence my IM names). All thoughts, prayers, words of encouragement are quite welcome.
