Tipping 101

Here’s a story that is quite true, but the names have been changed to protect the innocent.
On the night of Saturday, the 30th of July, there was a guy waiting tables at a casual dining establishment. Around 9 pm, a party of 8 walked in and sat in his section. He waited on them with the same level of service he gives all parties. After buying and eating $125 of food…without complaints or problems, they left. A “baseline” tip (of 15%) would have been approximately $16 (we’ll use that for s***s and giggles). The tip they had given was $3.50 and a fine note: “Do not walk in the (name of area) projects at night.” The waiter, when telling his fellow waiters the amount, was greeted by laughter. A fun evening.
