Well, that about sums up our (”our” being my stunningly beautiful girlfriend and myself) collective thoughts.
i finally met a few guys on campus that are really cool…one's in my Heidegger class (which will be really cool). On Wednesday night, we met at Borders and discussed some cool topics (megachurches, nationalism, etc).
My philosophy classes are really neat (albeit long-winded right now). In Heidegger, we're discussing the differences of Being and being in relation to time to get to the meaning of life (according to Heidegger's hermeneutic circle). In Religions of the West, which will be referred to in the future as Hank's class, we're talking about nothing in particular…roaches and scotch and whiskey. Hanks is also my professor for my senior thesis, which i have narrowed down to Barth, Kant, and Existentialism. In Aesthetics, we're glossing over major theories of the nature of art and beauty (we've hit Plato and Aristotle…tackling Kant next). My German instructor finally started speaking partially in English. Yay! Physics is dull. Biology's even duller. i still like this professor's increduluousness. He stated that this wouldn't be like High School Biology. To which i replied that my HS Biology class used a book that the higher level of Biology here uses. Ha! Take that, Mr. Overconfident Biology Professor! Dork.
In 46 days, someone'll be $300 poorer, but amazingly happier i'm really scatterbrained right now, so…
As of last night, i prefer Letterman over Leno…
Amazingly, Bush accepted the RNC nomination. Finally, the spending is over for that convention (as if the other wasn't expensive).
The Saints are playing Miami tonight. Miami wanted the game postponed so that the players could be home with their families. The NFL denied their request. So, to accomodate Miami, the game has been moved up a half an hour. i hope they boycott the game and go home. LSU is playing Oregon State this weekend…Geaux Tigers! Southeastern won their game last night against some Univ of Arkansas campus. Yay fer the Lions (who are enjoying their second season as a team again).
i'm sooo ready to be out of this house and living “on my own.” Additionally, i am sooo ready to be out of UNO and in grad school. i need to take the GRE later this month.
Tomorrow, i visit my father again for Cameron's birthday party. i get to sleep over my grandmother's house tonight. Yay!
