Call for votes

i got this phone call today from the David Vitter’s campaign HQ. First question: “Can we count on you for for David Vitter?” Nope. i’m not sure about the senate race yet. Second question: “What is the main issue that would influence your vote?” All of them. Third question: “Which issue would you like to know about?” Education and the Arts. “Sorry, i don’t have that information. i have (lists everything currently popular in the newspaper).” Social Security sounds good. “Blah blah blah.”
Thank you for calling my cell phone around dinner time. “Be sure to watch the senate debate tonight.” Saw it last week when it was first aired. “Oh. i didn’t know about that…have a good day.” Sorry, i’m unconvinced. You are the weakest link. Tchüß.
Gotta love politics.
And, for those of you who may have forgotten: i love my girlfriend. She is wonderful. She makes my blood boil.

  • As Amarok 2 gets closer to a release, it is looking better and better. There's a new feature in the works that will give Pandora a good fight: music biases. - #
  • Today, two great things (according to me, at least) have been released: Firefox 3 and Wine 1.0. Nearly everybody should know what Firefox is, however many probably don't know about Wine. It is an Open Source project that works as an abstraction layer so Linux (and other POSIX) users can run Windows programs (such as Photoshop) on Linux without needing to have Windows installed. - #
  • After a long wait, it is official.  I've been accepted to the University of Glasgow's doctoral program in theology.  The term starts in late September, so I'll be moving some time between now and then. - #
  • I found a few problems with my reading lists regarding dates. I've fixed them all so that it is relatively accurate. - #
