No work

Well, after discovering (the painful way) that i can no longer work in restaurants (i got a job right after my last update at a fine dining Chinese joint and started it Wednesday), i’m back to looking for a job outside the food service industry.
My mom seems to be all nice to me again….weird.  In some ways, it’s like Sunday night never happened.  She’s also offered me my job in the kennel again….i’m not so sure about taking it up, though.  i’d rather a “real” job that i can work more hours and get paid more.  i’d like to try my hand at tutoring for something or another…
Today, i got a letter in the mail from my school.  i thought it was just a random letter for graduation, but it wound up being a letter from the Board of Supervisors of the LSU system (UNO is part of that system).  One of the supervisors awarded me a full tuition scholarship three days ago.  Ho yeah.  This semester’s only going to cost me $300 in fees plus books.  i’m probably going to return most of my loan money because i don’t really want more than what’s needed.  i’ll probably keep a little bit to start as a base for saving (like $200), but that’s it.
School starts on Wednesday for me (M/W/F schedules are nice…).  Yay!
Lastly, my back has been bothering me a little bit (thanks to work), but after a little bit of a heating pad and a good chair to sit in, it gets better.

  • As Amarok 2 gets closer to a release, it is looking better and better. There's a new feature in the works that will give Pandora a good fight: music biases. - #
  • Today, two great things (according to me, at least) have been released: Firefox 3 and Wine 1.0. Nearly everybody should know what Firefox is, however many probably don't know about Wine. It is an Open Source project that works as an abstraction layer so Linux (and other POSIX) users can run Windows programs (such as Photoshop) on Linux without needing to have Windows installed. - #
  • After a long wait, it is official.  I've been accepted to the University of Glasgow's doctoral program in theology.  The term starts in late September, so I'll be moving some time between now and then. - #
  • I found a few problems with my reading lists regarding dates. I've fixed them all so that it is relatively accurate. - #
