Finals Week

It’s finals week, so i’m rather limited on time. i’ve got three term papers (15-20 pp each) and a final (5-10 pp) to do and turn in by Tuesday the 14th. i’ll be posting them online here once i get the grades for the class.
As of now, the three term papers are:

  • “Ancient-Future Hermeneutics”: Dealing with early church and contemporary interpretations of the “Son of Man” imagery found in Daniel 7, “apocryphal” writings (1 Enoch and 4 Ezra), the synotpic gospels, and Pauline letters (Philippians, etc).
  • “Subjectivity as Chrisitan Truth”: Dealing with Kierkegaard’s conception of ultimate truth being subjectivity and how he applies it to Christianity in his Attack Upon “Christendom”.
  • “Language as Violence”: Dealing with the linguistic nature of religion and how traditional religious discourse is inherently “violent” (in the Vattimoan sense) as it is constructed around classical Western metaphysics and how this needs to be changed to survive the postmodern context.

After that, i’ll be out of town skiing for the weekend.
