Anniversary

Sunday (today) marks our first wedding anniversary. Mandie first surprised me with a week of camping during the 4th of July down in Colorado Springs. We hiked Garden of the Gods, visited the Cave of the Winds, went rafting down the Arkansas River, crossed the Royal Gorge Bridge, and spent a day at Buckskin Joe Frontier Town. i’ll post pictures this week from all of that fun.

However, yesterday, my wife first received a flower and rose arrangement. i brought our dog to spend the night at the kennel. Then, we relaxed the rest of the day. We started getting ready around 3:30 to go out to eat. i surprised her first with dinner at The Melting Pot, a fondue place where we had our first date. That was followed by a night in a bed and breakfast downtown. Of course, our room had a 2-person Jacuzzi tub, which we used to our advantage.

Mandie, happy anniversary. May our future years be as nice as our first.

  • As Amarok 2 gets closer to a release, it is looking better and better. There's a new feature in the works that will give Pandora a good fight: music biases. - #
  • Today, two great things (according to me, at least) have been released: Firefox 3 and Wine 1.0. Nearly everybody should know what Firefox is, however many probably don't know about Wine. It is an Open Source project that works as an abstraction layer so Linux (and other POSIX) users can run Windows programs (such as Photoshop) on Linux without needing to have Windows installed. - #
  • After a long wait, it is official.  I've been accepted to the University of Glasgow's doctoral program in theology.  The term starts in late September, so I'll be moving some time between now and then. - #
  • I found a few problems with my reading lists regarding dates. I've fixed them all so that it is relatively accurate. - #
